About Oxide Connect
Oxide Connect is an independent community and social platform for residents of Second Life. It brings people, creators, communities, events, destinations, and resident photography together in one place on the web. Your Second Life, connected.
Two separate projects
Oxide Connect
The web community and social platform. It is where residents find each other, share what they are doing, publish articles and photography, and discover events and destinations in Second Life.
Oxide Viewer
A separately developed desktop viewer for Second Life. It is built by its own developer as its own project, and Oxide Connect is designed to work alongside it. Using Oxide Connect never requires it.
Both are independent projects made for Second Life residents.
Independence
Oxide is not developed, endorsed, sponsored, or supported by Linden Lab. Second Life is a product of Linden Lab, and Oxide is an independent resident project with no official affiliation.
Questions residents ask
Is this Oxide: Survival Island?
No. Oxide Connect is a community platform for Second Life residents on the web and desktop. It is not a mobile game, it is not a survival game, and it has no connection to any similarly named game or its developer. If you are looking for help with a mobile game, please contact that game's publisher; we cannot help with it.
Do I need the Oxide Viewer?
No. Oxide Connect works in your web browser. The Oxide Viewer is a separate desktop project for Second Life, and the two are built to work well together.
How do I get in?
Oxide Connect is in early access for Second Life residents. Request early access and Oxide staff will be in touch by email.
Something is broken. Where do I report it?
If you already have an Oxide Connect account, sign in and use the built in report form so your report reaches the right queue. The Early Access form is only for requesting access.
Oxide never asks for your Second Life password. Avatar verification happens in world.
